카레라이스 (Curry Rice)


This is 카레라이스 (curry rice). It comes to Korea from India, by way of Japan. I actually learned that fact on a show about Korean cuisine I saw while I was here. I did not know it hit Japan first (I knew it originated in India). Anyhow this is some 3 minute curry, so the quality is not the greatest. What you do is pop this little pouch in some boiling water for 3 minutes. Take it out and dump the contents over some rice, and BAM! Lunch is served. This coupled with ramen pretty much made up my diet for a while...until I discovered the wonder that is the 분식집.
