Jesus Love You!

Ok. There's a reason this is here (no I have not found God). This picture is here so that I can attempt to explain religion in Korea. Some time in the early 20th century, as Korea was begining to westernize, Christianity came to Korea. The Koreans adopted this new religion fairly whole-heartedly (I have heard that they did so in order to differentiate their westernization from that of Japan, but don't quote me on this, as I don't have any of my scholarly apparatus here with me). Anyhow this carried on to the present, and chances are if you were to ask a Korean what their religion was they would say Christian (or some more specific denomination). Now, a high percentage of the population will go to church every Sunday and even do things like read the bible on the subway, I'm not really sure how many Koreans truly believe in their "religion." I'm under the impression that a great deal of them attend chuch because that's the thing you are suppose to do. I was actually told that by one Korean when I asked why she went to church.
There are, however, some Koreans who claim to have no religion. They are the Buddhist Koreans who are not monks.
