Go On...Cry Baby Cry!

So I'm waiting for vacation to begin (4 hours to go baby), and thought I'd toss this hastily assembled post up for all my fans to enjoy. Let's start with this: yesterday I made a kid cry. This student came into class 30 minutes late (strike one buddy), and sat down at his desk. We were doing reading, so I told him to take out his book, apparently book and "annoying toy with a lot of flashing lights on it" sound remarkably close, because that's what he produced (strike two). I told him to give me the toy, which he refused to do. I then made him stand in front of the class and tell everyone about said toy in English. Having finished his presentation, I told him to put the toy in his bag and get his book. He took his book out, did not open it, and proceeded to strike up a conversation with the kid next to him. Now if they were working on a worksheet or doing group work or playing a game, I wouldn't mind random conversation, but the fact that he was disrupting other kids for reading and listening was not going to fly with me (strike three). So I walked over to the kid's desk, but his book in his bag, pointed to the door and said, "Go home!" The kid kind of stared at me dumbfounded so in Korean I proclaimed, "집에 가!" ("Jib-ae ka!"/"Go Home!"). He then put his head down on the desk and began sobbing to himself. The other kids in the class laughed at him. 3 minutes later I told him to take out his book and read, which he did. Stupid schmuck should have done that in the first place and saved himself some embarassment.
Anyhow, after work U-rim and I went shopping for some new fall fashions. I picked up some Widespread Panic shirt (not because I like that band), but because there were countless versions of them with little tigers killing snakes on it. I wonder if the dudes in Widespread Panic know that their shirts are popular in South Korea and crazy ammounts of people wear them. I also got a Panda-Z shirt (see the photo below). U-rim picked up some Mickey Mouse related shirt which is decent. After shopping, we got some 분식 and headed home.

Shopping in Dongdaemun.

Nice hat geek!

There's a new weirdo in town. I've seen this dude the past two nights now. He hangs out in Shinchon and dances a jig. He's got some sweet moves.

Death Metal Man! YEOW!

Anyhow that about wraps it up from here, but before I go I need to present this...

That's right...it's a giant fuckin' stone penis. Read it again. A STONE PENIS! It's a stone penis that is roughly 7 feet tall. A 7' DICK CHILLIN' OUT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD! What the fuck is wrong with Korea?

I first spotted this item months ago when I began working in 고양시, and after much delay, I finally took a picture of it today. What a strange land I live in!
