Rock Show: Peterpan Complex w/ 재주소년 (Jeju Boy)

So I just got back from a killer show...that's right, I said "killer show." Tonight's rocking was provided by Peterpan Complex and their special guest, 재주소년. The show was at DGBD, a club in Hongdae. I had never been there before, and had some difficulty finding the place, but I arrived literally 2 minutes before the rocking commenced. At first I figured I'd missed 재주소년, since it was Peterpan Complex who hit the stage. Here is some photo evidence:

Peterpan Complex doing their best Radiohead impression.

Peterpan Complex still rocking their asses off.

Peterpan Complex's singer. Check the dude's quasi-mullet. Not too shabby.

Get that bass outta my face!

Rock it!

Rockin' out 2: Electric Boogaloo!

Now after that, Peterpan Complex bid us farewell, but bid us to enjoy their friends 재주소년, who entered stage left? Right? Whatever. 재주소년 were actually a decent combo. They actually played some Simon & Garfunkle / Aztec Two Step two man folk rock, which was an interesting departure from the normal "We are Korea's answer to Rancid!" / "We are Korea's answer to Nirvana!" most of the indie bands tend to follow.

After 재주소년 wrapped up, Peterpan Complex came back. This must be a Korean thing, since when I saw Cherry Filter they did the same thing. The headliners play a set, then some special guests play, and then come back and play some more. So here is the continuation of Peterpan Complex.

The singer rocking out Elton John style.

Now that I think of it, at the Cherry Filter concert, Cherry Filter came back with a mellow begining to their second set...I guess it must really a Korean thing. Anyhow they only kept it mellow for a little bit, and then it was back to some balls to the wall rocking.

Singer and super hot drummer. She never smiled at all...but was totally hot.

TOTAL GUITAR FACE!

Rocking out on "Jingle Bells" (if memory serves me correctly). Other covers on this night included "Feliz Navidad," "Last Christmas," (the Wham tune), and "Tonight."

Anyhow it was a rocking evening, and I really like that club. It was the kind of club that is very similar to someone's basement, and surprisingly it wasn't that crowded. I'll have to check for future shows at that club!
