Hong Kong Trip: Day 2
The second day of our trip started of in the Panda Hotel. I checked out some Hong Kong television (I was underwhelmed and unable to understand it) while U-rim "pit her face on." We then went downstairs and got our complimentary breakfast, which was the most western breakfast I've had in quite some time (bread, fruit, and sausage as opposed to rice and soup made of things I wouldn't have eaten four years ago).
After breakfast it was back on the bus and off to a Buddhist temple, the name of which I can't recall.

Here's a Buddhist temple we kicked off day number two by visiting. Like the amusement park the day before, there were a ton of Chinese nationals here. Luckily the air was thick with incense to cover up the stench of the unwashed masses.

Here is U-rim at the Buddhist temple. Behind her you can see some of the other people who were in our posse.

At this Buddhist temple, the air is so thick with incense that it's all you can see and smell. Anyhow we used some divination item at this temple where you shake a cup with sticks in it, until one comes out. Each stick has a number on it, and these numbers mean different things. I got a number 7 which means I have the power, but also have anger...so basically I'm a pissed off version of He-man.

U-rim and I thought this sign cautioning about a wet floor was pretty decent since the guy looked like he was dancing.

As we were driving from the Buddhist temple to the next venues (a diamond / jewlery place I didn't want to take pictures, and a tea house where I forgot to take pictures), we passed numerous building with their clothes hung out on a flag pole to dry.
After the aboved mentioned trips, it was time for lunch. Here in Hong Kong that means....dimsum!

First I didn't take this picture, it might not even be from Hong Kong, but I just needed to show this item. On the plane to Hong Kong there was a small "Things to Do in Hong Kong" magazine that proclaimed Dim Sum to be this must try food. On the second day for lunch we were going to try it. I must have been in Korea too long, for all I thought of it was "How incredibly greasy can one meal be?" Tray upon tray of various buns, dumplings, and assorted fried crap where brought out to us. They had different fillings in theory, in reality they all included pork in them.

的士? It's a damn red taxi. In Hong Kong (please excuse my snobby attitude to follow) they drive on the wrong side of the street, and have the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car...
After lunch U-rim and I somehow got away from our tour group, and ended up in Stanley, which is apparently a big shopping area. We were totally getting our shop on.

Apparently not even former British colonies in East Asia are safe from the clutches of Engrish! This picture was taken of a shirt in the area known as Stanley.
After getting our shop on we headed into the city without the watchful eye of our tour guide. We had no knowledge of the geography, or the language (luckily it's Hong Kong so mad people spoke English).

Here is a picture of my honey while riding a double decker trolley. It was the first time either of us had been on a trolley, double decker or otherwise.

Here's a picture of the double decker trolley cruisin' the streets of Times Square (Hong Kong edition).
While riding the trolley, we saw a girl who, for some reason unknown to us, had a Coke can with the label written in 한글. Needing directions, asked them in both Korean and English if they knew were we needed to get off the trolley. They spoke neither language, but a different woman overheard us, and told us she would help us. Just at that moment, there was an accident ahead of us, so everyone got off the trolley. The destination was still a ways away, and the woman offered to take us there via taxi. So we headed off in a red taxi towards another shopping region.

Hong Kong street scene.

So I see this awesome sign in a subway station in Hong Kong and snap the picture, thinking I'd never have a chance to see Beard Papa again...two days later in Seoul I find Beard Papa about a 10 minute bus ride from my house.
