Korean Style Thanksgiving

Yesterday was Thanksgiving back home in America, which means sitting around with family, eating turkey and not working or studying for like 5 days. However in Korea this is not the case.
For starters there is no such thing as Thanksgiving here. I mean why would there be? They have no pilgrims or Indians or Mayflowers or show with buckles on them. Additionally Koreans for the most part don't eat turkey, therefore my Thanksgiving lunch looked like this:

Thanksgiving lunch: fried rice, ramen, kimchi, pickles, and Spam turkey sent from America.

So after a Thanksgiving lunch that included Spam I headed into work. Instead of going with the lesson plan, the kids learned about Thanksgiving (pretty much that no one works or has school and everyone eats turkey...I left out pilgrims and such). After that, it was time for a Thanksgiving related project. That's right, we made turkeys by tracing hands on construction paper. Awesome! After that we played some games and called it a day.
After work I met with U-rim and we went to a spaghetti resturaunt and then went shopping. She was looking for "couple gloves," but we ended up buying a The Noid action figure. For those of you who don't know what the Noid is, it was the mascot for Dominos Pizza in the mid to late 80s. Why exactly a store in Korea was selling a figurine of this character is beyond me, but I had to have it...so now I do.
After shopping, we headed home and called it a night after I wished my family back home a Happy Thanksgiving.
Anyhow I have to get out of here soon, so for those of you in America I hope you had an outstanding Thanksgiving, stay away from the malls tomorrow (today). For everyone else, carry on as usual.
