(Insert Rage Against The Machine Lyric Here)

It's not a secret that people in one country are often taken with some aspect of a foreign culture. While the Japanese are currently obsessed with a certain Korean actor, kids in America watch Pokemon or Yugioh or some other "anime" series, and yuppies circa 1983 feasted on sushi, the Koreans are currently assdeep in a strange obsession with Rage Against The Machine's favorite communist revolutionary (no, not Mao), Che Guevara.

Behold some of the more bizarre Che offerings I've come across.

My Che Socks. These were purchased from a vendor that stocked them right next to the Yong-sama socks. Your one stop shop for otaku sock shopping.

In a move akin to the Fred Astaire Dirt Devil commercial, Che's likeness appears in this beer ad. For some reason I don't think South American/Cuban communist revolutionaries don't strike me as the kind of guys who would want their image used to advertise Korean beer, well South Korean beer anyway.

The most ironic thing about this current obsession is the fact that while communist revolutionaries from the opposite side of the world, media from north of the 38th parallel are blocked. Sleep now in a fire!
